PTO Board POSITIONS

The PTO Nominating Committee is in the process of collecting nominations for PTO Board positions for the 2018-2019 school year. The members of the Nominating Committee, as well as the nominations received, remain in confidence with only the Nominating Committee. Nominations are received via email or through a lock box in the PTO room. The Nominating Committee members are the only PTO members in which the nominations are known.

 

 Our By-Laws state:

  1. Term. Officers shall be elected to office on a fiscal-year basis and cannot serve in the same office for more than two (2) consecutive years unless deemed for the best interest of the Organization with approval of the Board. Officers shall be elected and installed at the last general meeting of the year.

 Therefore, every Board position is open during each election. The Nominating Committee may decide it in the best interest of the Organization to select an officer that has already been in the position for one term or may decide it is best to select a new officer after only one term.  

 After all nominations are received, the Nominating Committee will select a slate of Officers to be presented to the PTO membership for election. (Elections will be held on April 18 at 9:30am and 6:30pm) The By-Laws state:

  1. Number Of Candidates. The Nominating Committee shall solicit and select one (1) nominee for each office to be filled.

 In order to have a nominee placed on the ballot, written consent must be given by the nominee. (See form below.)

  1. Consent Of Candidates. The Nominating Committee will obtain the consent of each candidate prior to placing that name on the ballot for election.

 Positions according to our By-Laws are:

SECTION 2. OFFICERS. The PTO Board shall consist of the President, Vice President of Membership, Vice President of Primary Fundraising, Vice President of Cultural Arts, Co-Vice Presidents of VIPS, Secretary, Treasurer, and the Principal.

 Please find attached the Consent Form to be completed and returned via email to Nominations@blackpto.net or returned to the Nominations lock box in the PTO room.
